SCOTLAND – The Glasgow Central Mosque will host the UK’s first halal exhibition this October.

Be Halal will bring products and suppliers together and provide an opportunity to showcase products and potentially expand their customer base.

"The current Muslim population in the UK is estimated at 1.9m and growing, currently representing 3.2 per cent of the total population," said founding director of organiser Oceanic Consulting, Irfan Younis.

"The Muslim community in Britain has an estimated spending power of over £20.5bn meaning extensive market potential. Be Halal will allow for greater awareness of halal products and services, and allow the Muslim community to show its economic strength," he added.

Exhibitors will include Simras Fashion House, Delicious Too, Je Roche Fashion House, Saima Jewles, Candylicious and Amina-Muslim resource centre.

Be Halal will take place on 10 October 2010.
