UBM launches new virtual platform for marketers

WORLD – United Business Media (UBM) Studios, a virtual event division of UBM, has launched a Virtual Resource Centre for its marketing clients to help promote new initiatives and products.

The Centre will feature a number of themed ‘booths’ for clients to choose from. Marketers can provide access to content via podcasts, web pages, webcasts and white papers. Staff can also deal with questions via text and video chat functions.

"We wanted to offer marketers a low-cost, effective platform to educate, engage and recruit customers," says SVP/MD of UBM Studios, Kate Spellman.

UBM Studios say the Centre will be a hosted service, requires no downloading and can be accessed directly from a web browser.

This announcement comes off the back of a story in UK industry publication Conference News that UBM is to triple the number of virtual events it holds over the course of 2010 from 30 to 100.
