Las Vegas - The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has announced the results of this year's election to its board of directors.
This year’s chair Margaret Pederson has passed the gavel to incoming chair and sales VP for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Chris Meyer, who will serve through 2010.
"The coming year is going to be critical for the convention industry and IAEE," said Meyer. “We are seeing positive signs about the future of the industry, but we must continue to work hard to maintain our reputation and value to corporate America."
The president of AE Ventures, John Galante, and the VP of meetings and expositions for the Craft and Hobby Association, Tony Lee, will join the director of business development for the Consumer Electronics Association, Ryan Strowger, as new board members.
Freeman’s CEO Joe Popolo and SmithBucklin senior director David Weil, have been re-elected to serve an additional three-year term.
Members of the IAEE's board of directors are elected annually by the official voting member of each IAEE member company.
