No organiser or location for E3 2024

Following the cancellation of its 2023 edition, E3 2024 has confirmed that it currently has no organiser or location – leading to doubts about the video game industry’s cornerstone trade exhibition’s future.

Previously organised by ReedPop, the company and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) have jointly confirmed that ReedPop will not organise future editions of the event. Furthermore, E3 will no longer be at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the show’s usual host.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, a media outlet owned by ReedPop, the ESA is planning to ‘reinvent’ the show going forward, but no other details have been shared at this time.

ESA president and CEO, Standley Pierre-Louis, comments: “We are continuing to explore how we can evolve (E3) to best serve the video game industry and are evaluating every aspect of the event, from format to location.

“We are committed to our role as a convenor for the industry and look forward to sharing news about E3 in the coming months.”

Kyle Marsden-Kish, Reed Exhibition’s global VP of gaming, says: “While we will not be involved with the future of E3 we look forward to seeing its evolution and where the ESA takes it.”
