Chemspec Europe postponed to November 2020

Global organiser Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced it has postponed its International Exhibition for Fine and Speciality Chemicals (Chemspec Europe) from the end of May to new dates, 11-12 November at Koelnmesse, Cologne.

Organisers plan for the 35th edition of the event to still take place in this calendar year and Nicola Hamann (pictured), Managing Director of Mack Brooks Exhibitions, said: “The health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff is our number one priority. After closely monitoring the evolving situation around Covid-19 and the notices issued by the World Health Organisation, the advice from the German authorities regarding large-scale gatherings and in close coordination with all partners involved, we have decided to postpone the exhibition.”

“Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the virus. This is not a decision we have taken lightly; our customers, partners and the Chemspec Europe Team worked incredibly hard on this event. While it is disappointing to postpone, it is imperative that we prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved. Our goal remains to provide the best customer value for everyone attending Chemspec Europe by delivering a high-quality exhibition in the second half of 2020.”

Mack Brooks Exhibitions said it trusted that the postponement would enable the exhibition to continue to serve as the primary specialised trading and networking event for the fine and speciality chemicals industry in Europe in the secure and safe conditions needed.

Organisers said their team would communicate closely with customers and partners over the coming weeks and thanked exhibitors, partners, suppliers and visitors for their support during this challenging time.
