Global Sources has “regretfully” announced the cancellation of its Global Sources 2020 Fall Show in Hong Kong series. The decision follows discussions with relevant authorities and stakeholders and comes as Covid-19 continues to cause disruptions to plans of exhibitors and visitors, with ongoing issues of travel restrictions and quarantine. Global Sources said would be upgrading and modifying Global Sources Online (GlobalSources.com).

- Global Sources Consumer Electronics (11-14 October, 2020)
- Global Sources Mobile Electronics (18-21 October, 2020)
- Global Sources Smart Home & Appliances (18-21 October, 2020)
- Global Sources Home & Kitchen (18-21 October, 2020)
- Tech Gifts Show (18-21 October, 2020)

“We deeply regret seeing buyers and suppliers around the world lose the opportunity to meet face-to-face at our Global Sources Shows again,” said Hu Wei, CEO of organiser Global Sources. “Protecting the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and service users has always been our top priority, for which we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Global Sources 2020 Fall Show Series. We thank all stakeholders for their understanding and support.
“Buyers have still been able to contact mainland China suppliers in advance through Global Sources’ online services, and usage of such online services rose sharply in the previous months. We intend to continue enriching our online content to offer a more extensive selection of suppliers and products for buyers worldwide.”
Global Sources Online is a cross-border B2B trade platform with two million active users each month. The Buyer App 3.0 unveiled in April syncs the chat message on the desktop version with its mobile app, and enables user to share text, voice, photos, and videos during the online conversation.
Global Sources organises export sourcing shows in Hong Kong SAR every April and October with eight events annually, including the world’ largest electronics shows. Organisers claim 1.5 million buyers, including 94 of the top 100 retailers, uses Global Sources’ services to obtain product and information.
