The UFI Connects session, 20 October, will explore the theme, ‘Towards a more sustainable trade show industry: findings from the North American study, example from Europe and next steps’.

Big hitters on the panel moderated by Danica Tormohlen include: Alexander Alles, executive director JMIC; Jason Megson, MD Freeman EMEA; Helen Sheppard, sustainability director RX Global;  Ben Wielgus, head of sustainability Informa and Vicenzo Cicere, head of sustainability, Feria Milano.

UFI notes: “The exhibition industry is committed to sustainability. With this session we will highlight some findings from a study conducted to evaluate the most material impacts on the environment from the operations of the B2B trade show industry in the US and Canada, and show how they feed into the global picture. The session will also include an example from Europe about the measurement of event GHG emissions.

“The conclusion will highlight how these elements feed the ongoing work undertaken by the events industry towards Net Zero Carbon Events and the upcoming #COP27 Global Climate Conference.”
