Interior brands trade fair Decorex attracted over 12,000 visitors to its busy show floor in Olympia London, 8-11 October. New collections were unveiled and visitors able to get hands-on with their designs.
Sam Fisher, event director, commented: “Seeing the design community come together to experience Decorex is always something to celebrate. We are delighted to have welcomed so many engaged and enthusiastic visitors, who have all helped make Decorex 2022 such a successful event.”
The show theatres were popular on all four days as visitors came to learn from the experts and participated in lively Q&A sessions. Taking place in its new Upstairs at Decorex location, the programme welcomed luminaries from across the design world, delving into a range of important themes, such as Emotion and Design, Sustainability and Growing Your Business.
The VIP Lounge at Decorex hosted a fascinating talk from Roger Saul, the founder of iconic fashion brand Mulberry, who delved into the Mulberry archives to share anecdotes from his career, discussing all things fashion and interiors.
Situated Upstairs at Decorex, Making Spaces saw dedicated and talented craftspeople demonstrating their skills live at the event. Those who visited, were able to discover the process behind unique crafts and understand what handmade really means, as talented makers explained the techniques behind their work.
The quality of the stands at Decorex was once again a talking point. The Best New Exhibitor award went to D&B Binder, who traditionally specialised in antique shop fittings, but now also create beautiful bespoke wooden and brass furniture made in England, using reclaimed materials wherever possible.
Fauteuil Renoir by L Drucker picked up the award for Best New Product, for their custom-made, colourful cane rattan chairs. Best Sustainable Product was awarded to Vasa by Vandra Rugs for their designs, inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden.
The stunning Pure White Lines stand, featuring an outstanding display of their dramatic bespoke lighting was awarded the Best Stand award this year.
Robbie Llewelyn, director at exhibitor Bert Frank commented: “This year’s show has been extremely well organised and very well attended. Decorex is synonymous with great design and we’ve been impressed by not only the quality of attendees but also by the standard of this year’s exhibitors. Decorex 2022 has been a great showcase for Bert Frank: we’ve had so many people visit and enjoy our Tree of Light’ installation in the entrance, and our nearby stand has proven very popular, attracting a lot of new as well as familiar faces - we couldn't be more pleased!”
