Informa Markets recently became one of the first trade show organisers in the USA to stage a live show since lockdowns began last year.
MAGIC Pop-Up Orlando was held in Florida’s Orange County Convention Center, and Aventri assisted the event by providing technology. The event showcased men and women’s footwear, apparel and accessories.
The event was held in a limited capacity over three days, with rigorous safety measures in place.
Aventri provided the event with contactless check-in using digital badges on the event mobile app. These made use of QR codes to avoid physical surfaces where germs could spread.
Exhibitors could also make use of contactless lead retrieval through the event app, to avoid the exchange of business cards.
Spencer Segura, vice president of operations for Aventri Experiential Solutions, commented: “For health and safety, providing guests with contactless check-in was a top priority for Informa and Aventri. Registration was seamless throughout the show. Even on opening day, we saw no lines.”
Jim Sharpe, CEO of Aventri, added: “We’re reimagining trade shows after the global upheavals of 2020. Working with Informa Markets, we created solutions and tactics to deliver a safe event and improve the attendee experience. MAGIC Pop-Up Orlando presents an optimistic roadmap for commercial recovery, as industries begin to rebound. It serves as a bellwether, signaling large in-person events are starting to come back.”
