The Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) in Germany has been modernising and remodelling since 2017, and, from 2020, the center will offer new dimensions for future event formats.
With a total available exhibition space of 12,000sqm, 12,000sqm of foyer space and 12,000 seats in up to 50 halls and rooms, the new CCH will be among Europe’s largest convention centres.
Heike Mahmoud, chief operating officer, CCH, comments: “While the construction work progresses, our CCHange Campaign focuses on a digital marketing strategy.”
At the upcoming IMEX in Frankfurt, clients can experience new technology.
Mahmoud explains: “For the first time we will present a 3D viewing application based on the real-time engine that is used with VR goggles. The resulting visual experience is comparable to a real walk through the new CCH.”
Originally developed for computer games, the 3D or Unreal Engine allows users to determine where they want to go, such as freely roam the rooms and entire buildings, walk down hallways, view their environment at any angle and interact with objects.
There are several other digital tools available to experience the new CCH, including an iPad app.
