Las Vegas will celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) on 12 April 2018.

In honour of GMID, meetings and events professionals from around the world will come together to showcase the real impact that business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions have on people, business and local economies.

The meetings industry in Las Vegas supports approximately 85,000 jobs with an economic impact of US$12.4bn. Las Vegas also recorded an all-time high for convention visitation in 2017, welcoming 6.6m business travellers.

Las Vegas boasts more than 1Msqm of meeting space in addition to a wide array of event, dining and entertainment venues that are also used for group business. In 2107, Trade Show News Network announced Las Vegas as the number one trade show destination in the country for hosting 57 of the top 250 largest trade shows in North America.

Meeting and event industry association chapters, corporations, destinations, partners and more are being encouraged to hold events in destinations all around the world to support this day of advocacy.
