RUEF's report, Russian Exhibition Market: First Half of 2017, has revealed signs of stabilisation for the country's exhibition market.

The association conducts a quarterly monitoring study of the main indicators of exhibition and fair activities of their member companies with prompt monitoring of the state and dynamics of the Russian exhibition market.

The analysis covers such indicators as space rented by exhibitors, net exhibition space, number of domestic and foreign exhibitors, number of visitors; the analysis is conducted on the basis of comparison with the same period in previous year.

According to the results of the first half of 2017, there is a small increase in all indicators of exhibition activity in Russia, except for the number of visitors.

The rented exhibition space and net exhibition space grew almost evenly – by 2.5 per cent and 2.2 per cent respectively; the number of exhibitors also increased: the total number by 2.2 per cent, domestic – by 0.8 per cent, foreign - by 7 per cent.

The number of visitors decreased by 2.2 per cent.

Given the steady negative dynamics of the Russian exhibition market in previous periods, these results might be considered as the sign for stabilisation and possibly even improvement, RUEF's statement reads.

The Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF) at the International Exhibition EXPO-2017 took place in August. RUEF's delegation took part in the International Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

This year's exhibition focuses on the topic Energy of the Future. Among the members of the delegation, there were heads of the leading Russian exhibition companies, such as ExpoForum-International (St Petersburg), Messe Frankfurt RUS (Moscow), Aviasalon (Moscow), Kazan Fair (Kazan), Bashkir Exhibition Company (Ufa), Yugorskiye Kontrakty Regional Exhibition Center (Surgut), Euroexpo (Moscow).

Presentation of RUEF and 13 main energy exhibition projects organised by the RUEF members under the common title 'Russian exhibitions for the energy of the future' took place within the framework of the business programme of EXPO-2017, specifically, at the International Forum 'Eurasian Week' and the business session of the Russian Export Center.
