Messe Frankfurt has appointed Andreas Winckler to the extended board of management. He has taken the role of chief of information technology, effective 1 October 2017. Winckler has been with Messe Frankfurt for 14 years, most recently as joint MD of Messe Frankfurt Medien & Service.
He will be taking over at the helm of the information management division, previously the responsibility of Frank Biendara, who left Messe Frankfurt at his own request on 30 September to pursue new professional challenges.
With the newly-created position of chief of information technology on the extended board of management, Messe Frankfurt is stepping up its efforts to digitise business processes, services and products, underlining the strategic relevance of digitisation for the company.
“Enabling business encounters is our core business. Digitisation offers us a wealth of new possibilities to make such encounters even more effective and valuable for our customers and to further develop our digital products, services and processes,” said Winckler.
“We do this both at national and international level, as Messe Frankfurt generates one-third of its sales in foreign markets. I see the hugely dynamic nature of technical advancement and its acceptance by society as both a challenge and opportunity,” he concluded.
Messe Frankfurt has also announced that from 1 January 2018 Klaus Reinke will be sole managing director of Messe Frankfurt Medien & Service.
