Chief executive officer of Suntec Singapore Arun Madhok has won the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award 2016 (APEA).

Arun was the sole recipient in the Award’s inaugural Hospitality, Food Service & Tourism category.

Launched in 2007, the APEA is organised by Enterprise Asia, a non-governmental organisation and entrepreneurship think-tank, with presence in 12 countries across the Asia Pacific region.

This year, the award received close to 90 nominations from Singapore. 27 winners across 16 industry categories were selected after a series of tests including independent assessments, audit and interview.

Arun was recognised for his exemplary leadership and business foresight. His flair in creating a culture of innovation, ability in overcoming adversity, and efforts in corporate social responsibility work were instrumental in propelling his organisation forward.

“I am deeply humbled. Winning the award is an affirmation of Suntec Singapore’s commitment to business excellence and growth. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Board, our clients, our partners and staff of Suntec Singapore for their trust and support,” remarked Arun.

Arun joined Suntec Singapore in 2009 as business development director and was quickly promoted to be the chief operating officer before eventually taking over the reins as CEO in 2012.
