The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) is set to host the first ever Dublin Tech Summit, which is expected to attract 10,000 delegates to the city over two days.
The summit, to be held on 15-16 February 2017, will focus on the themes changing the face of technology including Big Data, Fintech, business and marketing, and the Internet of Things. The event is one of a series of tech-related conferences booked to come to the Irish capital, reflecting the city’s strength and reputation in the sector.
Ben English, co-founder and CEO of the Dublin Tech Summit, said the event is about bringing the leaders of technology from start-ups, scale ups and corporates together to create an intimate global technology conference that is focused on maximising what Dublin has to offer as a global destination.
“In hosting the event across Dublin’s iconic Silicon Docks and The CCD, we are truly reaffirming Dublin as a global epicentre for technology and innovation,” he said.
Nick Waight, CEO at The CCD, added: “We are delighted to have secured the first Dublin Tech Summit this year and look forward to welcoming the many visitors and delegates from across the industry."
The venue has also confirmed tech conferences for the coming years, including DrupalCon, which organisers believe will attract 2,000 delegates to discuss its open source content management platform which powers websites and applications worldwide, SMACC Conference (Social Media and Critical Care) likely also to attract 2,000 delegates for its academic meeting, and the International Conference on Information Systems, where around 1,300 academics and practitioners in the IS discipline are expected to network and share their ideas.
