Obama and Merkel to open Hannover Messe

In recognition of Hannover Messe 2016’s USA partnership, President Obama will open the event, alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Hannover Messe 2016 (26-29 April) focuses on ‘industrial digitalisation’, with German specialists from mechanical and electrical engineering and the electronics industry, as well as leading US and Asian software providers.

Dr. Jochen Köckler, Deutsche Messe managing board member responsible for the show said: “This all adds up to promising new partnerships and business models on the road to the next industrial revolution. “The US, as this year’s partner country, German industry and their European partners are all intent on leveraging the fair to promote the TTIP free trade agreement.

“With its focus on industrial automation and energy and a strong lineup of some 5,000 exhibitors from 70 different countries, Hannover Messe is the perfect platform for transparent and constructive dialogue in support of the TTIP.”
