Artexis Group looks to build on record results in 2013

EUROPE - Belgian-based events organiser Artexis Group has claimed record profits and revenues in 2013, providing “a solid platform for the next phase” of the firm’s growth.

The organiser and venue manager has reported a 17 per cent increase in revenues to €94 million (US$128m) for its financial year 2012-13 and a 39 per cent leap in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) to €12 million.

The Artexis Group comprises two activities: Artexis, which organises events and exhibitions and manages venues in the Benelux and Nordic regions; and easyFairs, a globally active organiser of trade shows in 15 countries.

“We are delighted with these excellent financial results, which provide a solid platform for the next phase in our remarkable growth story,” said Artexis founder and CEO Eric Everard (pictured).

“We are now looking to build on the synergies between these operating divisions. We are broadening our horizons and will accelerate our growth at the international level, not only with easyFairs. Our long-term vision is to become a global player in multi-format events that inspire and energise both consumer and professional communities,” he said.

The firm has made two key appointments to reinforce the team at its Brussels headquarters. Formerly CFO at Cofinimmo, Marc Hellemans, joins as group chief financial officer. Anne Lafère, who has been with Artexis for 15 years and has managed Artexis shows in Belgium, has been appointed group chief operating officer.

After 10 years at the helm of easyFairs, CEO Jean-François Quentin, has decided to leave the Artexis Group to pursue other opportunities.

“I would like to thank Jean-François very warmly for his fantastic contribution to the creation and evolution of easyFairs,” said Everard. “During his time at easyFairs we launched some 150 trade shows in 15 countries and have become a major events industry partner for professional communities such as packaging, bulk solids and tank storage.”
