Inaugural Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe receives exhibitor support

EUROPE - UBM has revealed that 99 per cent of floor space has been booked for its inaugural Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe (JGFE), four months ahead of opening.

UBM Asia show director Celine Lau said the team aims to fill a gap in the market by offering a professional jewellery sourcing platform alongside the experiences of the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.

"With Jewellery and Gem Fair Europe, held at Messe Freiburg, our hope is to establish a high quality and valuable fixed date to the jewellery industry's calendar,” she said. "To date, 400+ exhibitors, from 25 countries and regions have confirmed their participation for the fair. We have already booked 99 per cent of the floor space."

According to UBM, leading representatives of the international jewellery and gemstone industry have expressed the need for a commercially focused jewellery sourcing platform in Europe.

Antonio Jakubowski, CEO of jewellery design specialist Vilma said: “We are expecting the Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe to create a shining platform for international and European buyers, sellers and manufacturers. So far this form of framework has been absent in the industry. The positioning as the first jewellery sourcing even in Europe, which showcases exhibitors from luxury and mid-level jewellery, was developed to meet these industry's vital demands,” he said.

The show will feature nine group pavilions, including Antwerp, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and the United States.

JGFE joins the organisers’ jewellery show series, held in Hong Kong, New Delhi, Japan, Turkey and Singapore.

JGFE will be held on 1-4 April, at the same time as BaselWorld.
