Suntec Singapore prepares for busy line-up of events for 2014

ASIA - The Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre has unveiled a packed schedule of events for its first full year in 2014 since the completion of its US$184 million renovation.

The company has booked 88 key events for its 2014 line-up, including 16 major medical events, 16 trade shows, 19 consumer events and 37 international conferences and special events.

“Our event list is a testimony to the confidence in the Suntec Singapore team and the value of the facilities and services that we offer,” said Arun Madhok, Suntec Singapore’s CEO.

“We are proud to be chosen as the preferred place to meet for so many events and will strive to remain the venue of choice for our existing and new customers."

The 88 events for 2014 span a wide range of industries from medical and technology to lifestyle and financial. These include first-time events such as Blueprint 2014, Asia’s Fashion Gateway, which runs for four days and brings in 20,000 delegates, Prudential Eye Awards and Singapore Art Fair, as well as AAMA-TEX, UROFAIR, Trans Asia 2014.

Suntec Singapore re-opened in June 2013 and has since played host to 196 events with a total of 780,000 visitors coming to the venue.

This included 56 exhibitions and 124 conferences and meetings. Suntec Singapore welcomed back regular events such as ad:tech, ICMAT, Singapore Gifts and Stationary Show, IMCAS Asia, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce SMEs and Spikes Asia.

The venue also welcomed new exhibitions, including Cloud Expo Asia and Data Centre World.

“We’re delighted with the success of our first event in Asia. The service and facilities provided by Suntec Singapore were ideal for our event. We are looking forward to coming back again next year for an even bigger show,” said Andy Center, CEO of CloserStill Media, organiser of Cloud Expo Asia.

“With so many key events already contracted, and considering how well we’ve traditionally done with corporate events, I fully expect 2014 to be a very successful and busy year,” said Madhok.

“Having said that, we are not just looking to fill the centre for the sake of it. We are looking to foster long-term collaboration with events and clients who can use the full potential of our centre for our collective success.”
