Hosted Buyer Programme well received by buyers ahead of WTM Africa

AFRICA - World Travel Market (WTM) Africa said the introduction of Reed Travel Exhibitions' Hosted Buyer Programme has resulted in "phenomenal interest from global travel industry buyers".

Registration for WTM Africa's Hosted Buyer programme opened last week and 200 applications from 35 different countries for 300 places at the event have been received.

WTM Africa takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, 2-3 May 2014, as part of the newly-formed Thebe Reed Exhibitions' Africa Travel Week.

"I am delighted with the interest from the world's leading buyers to be part of WTM Africa's Hosted Buyer programme," said WTM Africa Hosted Buyer manager Paulina Lund. "However, I would still urge those buyers who have not applied to do so, as only the most relevant buyers will be the ones that are ultimately chosen to take part in the programme."

Buyer Allan Falck, executive director at Sundance Tours in Argentina, said: "For many years we have supported Reed Exhibitions and are disciples of the value-for-the-investment derived through the qualification process Reed Exhibitions puts into each event and the seller contingent drawn in. With African and Indian Ocean destinations looming larger with our client base, WTM Africa is one event we will support delivering new customers and business to those WTM exhibitors."
