Arabian Travel Market expands floor space

MIDDLE EAST - Reed Exhibitions will increase next year’s Arabian Travel Market floor space by 5.8 per cent, due to increased exhibitor demand.

The show, to be held on 5-8 May 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, will accommodate an extra hall, which will span a total of 23,500sqm of exhibition space, up from just under 22,000sqm in 2013.

According to Reed Exhibitions, the demand from Middle East exhibitors has increased by 11 per cent, Europe by 7 per cent and travel technology and hotels by 8 per cent and 7 per cent respectively.

“That the highest growth in floor space is coming from the Middle East is reflected in the growth being experienced in tourism in the region,” said Mark Walsh, portfolio director, Reed Travel Exhibitions.

The organiser said the show is set to add a third seminar theatre to the line-up, with a new ‘Showcase Theatre’ for short workshops and country destination briefings.

Reed has appointed Craig Moyes to manage the leisure portfolio, including Arabian Travel Market, World Travel Market Latin America and World Travel Market.
