IFEMA reports inaugural success for Momad fashion show

EUROPE - Madrid venue and organiser IFEMA has hailed its inaugural multi-sectorial fashion event, Momad Metropolis, after it attracted more than 17,000 visitors.

The event combined two exhibitions SIMM and Modacalzado+Iberpiel and was held on 6-8 September at Fiera de Madrid.

In all, 17,423 trade visitors attended the event alongside 1,300 exhibitors across 16,000sqm of exhibition space. According to IFEMA, the exhibition was divided into three main sections: Metro, Cosmo and Ready.

The show also hosted three fashion events; In the Footsteps of the Stars, organised by Elda Footwear Museum, The Fashion is Coming Now, organised by the Higher Centre for Fashion and Design of Madrid, and the ANDE Forum Exhibition, organised by the Association of New and Young Designers.

"We have achieved satisfactory numbers in terms of attendance and participation and a favourable response from both exhibitors and visitors, but we have also detected various areas in which we need to improve,” said show director Francesco Malatesta.

“We shall work straight away on adjusting the layout at the exhibition and improving the signposting, thus enhancing our management of the circulation of visitors throughout the different sections of the trade fair.”

Malatesta said the organiser will work on developing the children, mens fashion and sport fashion sections for the next show.
