ASIA - UBM Sinoexpo has partnered with the Guzhen Town Government of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province to manage the operation of its international lighting exhibition.
The joint venture will oversee the organisation of the 12th International Lighting Fair and LED Application Exhibition on 18-21 October in the Lighting Capital Conference and Exhibition Center, and in three lighting marts, spanning a total of 250,000sqm.
Mayor of Guzhen Town Wei Hongrui said a professional management committee will be set up to manage the government departments, the lighting markets, and the representatives of the mainstream companies in the industry.
"We believe that UBM Sinoexpo's expertise, their professional team and modern enterprise development and management will play an important role in the development of the Guzhen lighting fair for now and in the future,” said Hongrui. "Guzhen is the world's largest lighting market and we hope that by working with UBM Sinoexpo, the Guzhen Lighting Fair will grow to become the world's largest and most influential trade exhibition and Guzhen will become a global lighting industry hub. I am confident about the prospects for this bilateral cooperation."
More than 64,000 visitors and 600 exhibiting companies attended the 2012 event.
Messe Frankfurt claimed its rival show Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, attracted more than 116,000 visitors in June.
