EcoWaste debuts at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in 2014

MIDDLE EAST - The Center of Waste Management-Abu Dhabi (CWM) is launching a new international exhibition dedicated to waste management in 2014.

EcoWaste 2014 will be held during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) from 20-22 January, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition will be co-organised by renewable energy company Masdar, and will be co-locating with the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) and the International Water Summit (IWS).

“EcoWaste will offer a number of business opportunities across the entire solid waste management services sector, introducing new projects, showcasing the latest technologies and sharing knowledge and expertise from both the public and private sector,” said Frederic Theux, president of Reed Exhibitions Middle East, co-organiser of ADSW.

According to EcoWaste, the new event aims to support the region’s urgent waste disposal challenges and needs in the quest for sustainable development and environmental protection. "With its productive output and efficient conversion rate, waste-to-energy is emerging as an attractive, clean energy source,” said CEO of Masdar, Sultan Al Jaber. “EcoWaste as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is the ideal platform to showcase the latest global technologies.”

The organiser of ADSW is expecting more than 30,000 visitors from 150 countries to attend during the week.
