Mash Media has appointed Donna Bushell as events director.
Reporting to sales director Duncan Siegle, Bushell will assume responsibility for the rapidly growing Event Production Show, focusing on operations, marketing, sales, and content.
Bushell will also manage and develop Mash Media’s other events including race days, forums and awards. Mash Media is the UK’s leading publisher of magazines and directories for the event, exhibition and conference industries – including Exhibition News.
“For the last 12 months, the events sector has been enjoying a strong period of growth and I am determined to help sustain this by ensuring suppliers, contractors and organisers have access to top quality events and exhibitions,” said Bushell.
“Mash has made some really imaginative and positive changes to the Event Production Show since its acquisition, which reflect in the 75 per cent of re-bookings already taken and 15 per cent increase in visitors on the previous year. I am now really looking forward to working with the team to further develop the EPS in 2014.”
With more than 20 years of experience in exhibitions and events, Bushell joins Mash Media from Faversham House, where she was responsible for the Sustainability Live series of events and Resource Ireland.
She has also worked for EMAP Exhibitions (now i2i), Miller Freeman Exhibitions (UBM), DMG World Media and Nexus Media Communications.
“As the Event Production Show and Awards have expanded so successfully, we felt the time was right to create a new events director position,” said Siegle.
“Donna has a wealth of experience working at major live events across the UK and Ireland so we are excited for her to lead the team as we look to grow our events portfolio.”
The 2014 Event Production Show will take place at Earls Court 2, London from 11-12 February. The third annual Event Production Awards will be held at the same venue on 11 February 2014.
