UBM expects 100,000 at co-located hospitality shows in China

ASIA - UBM Sinoexpo is expecting its hospitality and engineering expo to break visitor records in 2014, amid claims the market will be worth RMB295 bn (US$48 bn) in 2013.
 
According to the organiser the year-on-year growth rate will reach 9.26 per cent for hotel and tourism industries in China, and will continue to grow at an impressive rate.
 
Shanghai Hospitality and Engineering Expo (HDE) will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 31 March to 3 April 2014, providing engineering, design and overall project solutions to hotels, clubs, resorts, bars, chambers, villas, and correlated engineering businesses.
 
The event will be co-located with Hotelex and Design & Deco Expo (HDD), which expects to attract 2,800 global exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors from the hospitality and building industries. The combined event will span 17 halls covering 200,000 sqm of exhibition space.
 
The Shanghai International Building and Interior Design Festival (IDF) will also run concurrently with HDE, providing inspiration, innovation and opportunities for businesses involved in the design, construction and decoration of fine space.
 
A series of hotel design forums and business matching meetings will feature during the four-day event, including Engineering Elegance, Design Elegance, and Product Elegance.
 
In April, UBM reported the combined event with Hotelex attracted more than 70,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors.
