Messe Munich combines two shows with Laser India 2013

ASIA - The Laser World of Photonics India (Laser India) will be returning to the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai, co-locating with Intersolar India and Analytica Anacon India.

The organiser, Messe Munich, is expecting the larger combined event on 12-14 November will surpass the 2012 show, which attracted 128 exhibitors from 15 countries and 2,688 international trade visitors.

According to Messe Munich, the laser industry in India is increasing at a rate of 10-15 per cent every year. The application of laser and photonics technology is growing rapidly in India in several key industry sectors, including automotive, aerospace, defence, solar, diamond-cutting and industrial manufacturing.

Bhupinder Singh, deputy chief executive officer of Messe Munich India, said a platform such as Laser India, with government and association support, can benefit a large number of core and ancillary industries and their end consumers.

New to the show is the Laser Material Processing Symposium featuring experts in the field including Bishnu Pal, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi; David Payne, Southampton University in the UK; Ashish Nath, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India; and Ajoy Kar, Heriot-Watt University in the UK.

In May 2013, Messe Munich reported an international visitors boost at its Laser World of Photonics show in Europe.
