ASIA - The China-based Chengdu Motor Show will be occupying all nine halls of the New International Convention and Exhibition Center for the first time this year.

More than 600,000 visitors are expected to attend the 16th automotive show on 30 August - 8 September, spanning a total exhibition area of 140,000sqm.

New to the show is an official micro blog and WeChat account for visitors to find more information easily. The show will also feature a news centre and a visitor lounge.

The 2012 event attracted 502,320 visitors, according to the organiser.

Earlier this year, the New Century Global Center in Chengdu, western China, opened for business as the world's largest freestanding building.
