Messe Frankfurt moves Yarn Expo Zone to Shanghai

ASIA - Messe Frankfurt is relocating its Yarn Expo Zone, part of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics - Spring Edition, for yarns and fibres to take place in Shanghai instead of Beijing.

Yarn Expo Zone will take place from 3 to 5 March 2014 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

The show will co-locate with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition.

“Our exhibitors have expressed a desire to gain exposure within a larger market segment in China,” said senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt, Wendy Wen.

“This show, along with the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics fair, presents exhibitors with a wider opportunity to reach out to new buyers across the yarn and fibre, and apparel fabrics and accessories sectors. Visitors and exhibitors will benefit tremendously from these fairs taking place in the same venue.”

According to the organiser, Shanghai’s location at the centre of the Yangtze River Delta is an ideal geographical location to serve China’s textile manufacturing industry.

The 2013 show attracted 6,461 visitors and 194 exhibitors across 6,410sqm of exhibition space.

The autumn edition of Yarn Expo will remain unchanged and takes place in Beijing.

Messe Frankfurt has recently teamed up with Messe Hamburg to co-organise regional purchasing events held at the venues in January and July every year.
