Shenzhen International Trade Fair sees exhibitor increase

ASIA - The organiser of the Shenzhen International Trade Fair for Apparel Fabrics and Accessories in China has revealed a 26 per cent increase in exhibitors attending compared to 2012 figures.

Nearly 600 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions attended the trade fair from 11-13 July.

The exhibition space also increased on 2012’s edition by more than 30 per cent to 22,500sqm.

However, the number of visitors fell by seven per cent compared to approximately 14,000 in 2012 to 13,000 in 2013, with a mix of international visitors from 25 countries.

“Next year we will bring an even bigger number of exhibitors as the fair has more than met our expectations,” said joint director of Indian pavilion organiser, Texprocil, Ravi Narayanaswamy. “We have talked with a lot of buyers from outside Guangdong province which we didn’t expect, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shandong and more. Southern China has a big demand for yarn, and a lot of companies here are not aware of the high-quality yarn we produce, but we can create that awareness at a fair like this.”
