Uplift in building, home and repair and raw materials set to boost exhibition markets

AMERICAS - A new study from the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) will highlight positive economic change in a report due out in September.

On 12 September at the CEIR Predict Conference in New York City, increased consumer confidence in the building, construction, home and repair and raw materials sectors will be highlighted as leading indicators for the exhibition industry’s overall performance.

The session will be moderated by Hanley Wood president Rick McConnell, and panellists will include National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) chief executive officer Jerry Howard and US Green Building Council senior vice president/community advancer Kimberly Lewis.

“The outlook for home building and remodelling has improved considerably over the past year, with annual housing starts expected to increase by nearly 20 per cent to over 900,000 units in 2013 and accelerate beyond the million-unit pace in early 2014," said Howard. “Such improvement in production is triggering significant growth in NAHB's annual exhibition sales and membership, and we definitely expect that to continue.”

At CEIR Predict, all 14 sectors of the exhibition industry will be presented to exhibition industry executives, debt providers, private equity firms, investment firms, merger and acquisition firms and the general financial community.

The event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

CEIR has launched an exhibition organiser package in Atlanta.
