Reed Exhibitions strengthens market link to America

ASIA - China’s leading meetings, incentives and business travel exhibition (CIBTM) has officially been recognised by the US Department of Commerce, Reed Exhibitions has revealed.

The show is officially endorsed by China National Tourism Administration and Beijing Municipal Government, and will be held on 2-4 September at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC).

Reed said through certification, the Commercial Service of the Department of Commerce recognises and endorses CIBTM as an opportunity to showcase US products and services, providing a gateway for business opportunities between the two nations.

“To be recognised by the US Department of Commerce as the number one MICE trade show in China is a great honour for CIBTM, and acknowledges how far the show has progressed since it premiered in 2005,” said CIBTM project manager, Jeffrey Xu.

“This certification is an important step for CIBTM in supporting the growing trend for Chinese outbound business into the US market.”

This year’s show will feature new pavilions with meeting areas dedicated to Technology, Africa and the US. CIBTM will also feature the fifth China and Asia Meetings Industry Research report, produced by Reed Travel Exhibitions, providing insight into the meetings and incentives industry in China and Asia as well as up to date market information on the latest trends and developments over the past 12 months.

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) will be hosting education content at the China Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM).

Last year CIBTM attracted 3,929 attendees and more than 400 hosted buyers, generating more than 8,450 pre-scheduled appointments.
