Singex launches Internet of Things Expo

ASIA - Singapore venue and organiser Singex is launching a trade exhibition next year aimed at the internet, communications and technology industry.

Internet of Things Asia (IoT) will take place on 21-22 April 2014 at the Singapore Expo Convention & Exhibition Centre, in partnership with the Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA).

Comprising a trade exhibition, conference and business forums, the event is supported by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, and aims to bring together key players in the internet and machine-to-machine (M2M) market.

Singex expects to attract more than 5,000 visitors and 100 companies to exhibit over 5,000sqm of exhibitions space.

According to the organiser, the inaugural event comes at a time where the rapid growth of mobile data penetration numbers has seen a steady drop in the cost of mobile data connectivity.

“Information automation, or the use of smart sensors to connect people and processes, forms the backbone of M2M technologies, with IoT solutions becoming a key enabler in keeping our industries productive and competitive,” said SIAA president, Oliver Tian.

IoT Asia will be co-located with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers's (IEEE) Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing Conference (ISSNIP), focusing on the latest developments in the theory and application of smart sensors and sensor networks.
