Messe Frankfurt hails Chinese lighting expo a success

ASIA - Messe Frankfurt returned to the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou with the 18th edition of its Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, on 9-12 June.
 
More than 116,000 visitors from 120 countries attended the event, up from 110,406 in 2012, said the organiser. Around 2,588 exhibitors showcased their collection of lighting fixtures and products, electronic components and solutions from across the entire supply chain of LED lighting development, down from 2,653 exhibitors in 2012.
 
The lighting exhibition was held concurrently with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology and Building Solar China. In total, the three shows spanned 21 halls, covering 215,000sqm, and featured 120 seminars and four international pavilions, including Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and the US.
 
“By bringing together the different lighting sector groups under one roof, we have been playing a dynamic role in the development of the lighting industry, by offering a comprehensive industry platform for presentation and communication on the international stage,” said deputy general manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai, Lucia Wong.
 
The next edition of the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition will take place from 9 to 12 June 2014 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.
 
Messe Frankfurt reported US$669.5m sales in 2012.
