Hanley Wood partners with USGBC on Greenbuild event

AMERICAS – Media company Hanley Wood has partnered with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) on the acquisition of the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.

Greenbuild claimed to have more than 900 exhibiting companies and 30,000 visitors across 12,000sqm.

The partnership will see USGBC continue to produce the event’s programming, including the conference and leadership Awards. Hanley Wood will also focus on expanding the event nationally and overseas.

“USGBC has established Greenbuild as the must-attend event in the sustainable construction industry, making this acquisition a natural fit for Hanley Wood,” said Hanley Wood CEO Peter Goldstone.

Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of USGBC, said the partnership is an “extraordinary opportunity for USGBC.”

“One of the reasons we chose to partner with Hanley Wood is because of their commitment to maintain and build upon those essential qualities of Greenbuild that make it such a unique experience. This partnership creates an opportunity for us and our members to expand the green building marketplace, broaden our influence on green building policy, increase our focus on human health and social equity and put an emphasis on new and existing homes,” he said.

This year’s event is scheduled to be held on 20-23 November at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.

Hanley Wood produces a portfolio of shows in the building sector, including DeckExpo and the International Roofing Expo. Last year, CompuSystems signed a deal to provide registration and lead management services for Hanley Wood.
