Messe Frankfurt expands Indian event portfolio with Watertech

ASIA - The Indian division of German organiser Messe Frankfurt has further extended its event portfolio in the Indian market with the acquisition of wastewater and recycling expo, Watertech in Gujarat.

The organiser has also taken over Pollutech, Wastetech and Cleantech from Exhiference Media, which are held concurrently with Watertech. The event is scheduled to take place on 26-28 September at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

“We are entering a dynamic new area through the acquisition of Watertech," said Messe Frankfurt managing director Raj Manek.

"By applying our knowledge of best trade show practices, we look forward to developing the wastewater treatment and management segment further for the benefit of our customers, as well as driving growth as this exciting market continues to expand."

The organiser claims the last show in 2011 attracted 2,382 visitors, and 86 exhibitors. The annual show's 2012 edition was postponed due to the Gujarat state election.

"With Messe Frankfurt’s acquisition of Watertech, our goal is to bring both our proven professionalism and unmatched experience within green technology development, water and wastewater treatment exhibitions to ensure that Watertech is a show that will help propel the local industry into the future," said Messe Frankfurt president and chief executive officer Wolfgang Marzin.

“India’s water and wastewater treatment sectors are expected to remain relatively steady in terms of growth for the foreseeable future."

Messe Frankfurt organises a host of trade shows in India including ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, Techtextil India, Light India, Heimtextil India and Secutech India. Earlier this year, Messe Frankfurt partnered with Indian media operation Business Broadcast News as part of a strategic partnership to introduce a series of trade shows in the region.
