Science Media Partners joins forces with US IBIA for identity expo

WORLD - UK-based Science Media Partners has launched a 'visionary new conference and exhibition' with the International Biometrics & Identification Association (IBIA).

According to the organising group, the international event, connect:ID Expo, will focus on all aspects of personal identity in both the physical and digital worlds.

The organiser said identity is increasingly mobile, global and transactional, and this international conference and associated expo, will address the challenges and opportunities emerging from these important trends.

The inaugural event will take place on 17-19 March 2014 at the Ronald Reagan Conference Center, Washington DC. The organiser expects more than 50 exhibitors at the event.

"Government, commercial and consumer markets are in search of answers to the growing challenges associated with securing human identity in a privacy-sensitive manner," said Science Media Partners MD Mark Lockie.

"connect:ID will explore these real world requirements in an engaging, thought-provoking and inclusive environment that brings together all the stakeholders under one roof."

IBIA chairman and president Robert Harbour said: "the effective use of identity technologies is crucial to enhance security, productivity, and convenience in today's increasingly connected world, connect:ID is therefore a most timely event and will focus on where identity technology and infrastructure is desperately needed."

Also being held for the first time in Washington DC, is the Women's Leadership Forum, hosted by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) on 29-30 May.
