EUROPE - Madrid venue and organiser IFEMA has promoted Lola Gonzalez as the new director of Tecma, SRR and one of its longest running fairs Expo Optica.
After working in General Promotion Activities Turespaña, Gonzalez joined IFEMA in 1991 and worked as commercial director for 13 years and business development head, collaborating in the creation of shows such as education entertainment event Dabadum and Childcare Madrid.
The new director holds a Masters degree in Business Management and Nonprofit Entities, and will add shows such as International Student and Educational Supply, International Exhibition of Education, International Optics and Optometry, the Pet Industry Fair, and Trade Show Products for Children, to her expanding portfolio.
Last month, IFEMA appointed two new show directors, Alberto Diaz and Maria Jose Sanchez.
