Thailand on track with new railway exhibition

ASIA – Mack Brooks Exhibitions and the Ministry of Transport of Thailand (MOT) are teaming up for a railway equipment, systems and services exhibition for Southeast Asia.

Exporail South East Asia will take place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) on 12-14 March 2014.

The event will feature leading railway equipment and systems suppliers to the region, covering rolling stock, signalling, infrastructure and communications, as well as government authorities.

“We have been working with the MOT in Thailand for a number of months now developing the best format for the exhibition with the objective of meeting the needs of the region’s networks,” said Mack Brooks’ exhibition director Michael Wilton.

The organiser believes the region’s dual growth in population and gross domestic products has had a knock-on effect on the capacities and capabilities of the current rail networks.

“Thailand is an obvious place to hold an exhibition to help the region meet these demands," added Wilton. "Not only is it geographically significant, as Thailand, and Bangkok specifically will act as a hub, interchange and crossroads for the Kunming – Singapore – Myanmar high speed rail network, but Thailand also boasts the largest projects and plans as well as significant investment already in the development of its rail system.”

Mack Brooks has also launched a new edition of the BLECH trade show into China, to be held on 14-16 May at the Suzhou International Expo Centre.
