Lublin Conference Centre construction commences

EUROPE - The foundation stone for the Lublin Conference Centre in Poland has been set in place. The completion date is timed for the second half of 2014.

The new centre is an important investment for Lublin and Eastern Poland as it will “organise, among others, events promoting the region,” says a spokesperson for the centre.

The 48,800sqm development will cost an estimated PLN90m (US$21.5m), of which PLN42m was provided by the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland.

The main conference hall will have 420 seats with smaller spaces with a maximum capacity of 210 and 100. There will also be meeting rooms with a total surface area of 250sqm, with the possibility of flexible division into smaller areas using a sliding system of partition walls as well as open space for about 800 visitors in the exhibition hall and an observation deck.

As well as being a conference and exhibition centre, the six-storey venue will house a tourist centre and office space. The Tourist Information and Promotion Centre will be located on the ground floor of the building and will promote tourist, cultural and culinary attractions of the Lublin region.
