Messe Frankfurt confirms move for China interior lifestyle show

ASIA - The Interior Lifestyle China trade show will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in China, organiser Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) has revealed.

The trade fair for household products and accessories moves from the Shanghai Exhibition Center, and will take place on 25-27 September.

“With our new venue and changing the show date to September, earlier in China’s peak sourcing season, Interior Lifestyle China will present a brand new image which reflects China’s fast growing consumer market,” said Messe Frankfurt’s director of trade fairs, Wendy Wen.

Messe Frankfurt claims last year’s show received more than 16,725 visitors and had 248 exhibitors. The organiser expects an increase in the 2013 show with more than 23,000 visitors and 410 exhibitors set to occupy 24,600sqm of exhibition space.

A Messe Frankfurt spokesman said the number of Chinese cities housing more than one million people is expected to more than double from 102 in 2012 to 221 by 2015.

“These figures show that there is tremendous growth potential for Chinese department stores and these stores are a key outlet for selling lifestyle and home wares,” said Wen.

“Now more than ever before, it is important for existing and new brands in first and second-tier cities to do everything they can to distinguish themselves in the eyes of the consumer."

Regional outfit World HK Exhibition has recently launched In-Home Expo 2013, also catering for home interior related products and services, one of the five new exhibitions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
