ASIA - Coex Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea has appointed Bo Kyung Byun as president and CEO. Byun took over from his predecessor, Sung Won Hong, on 28 March.
Byun has experience heading several of Korea's top information and technology corporations, including LG-IBM PC and KOLON Global. Since 2011 Byun has held the role of CEO and President of the Seoul Business Agency, an organisation offering growth support to small- and medium-sized businesses.
Byun says he hopes to raise the international profile of Coex and heighten the centre's sense of social responsibility and support of local industries.
The management change comes as Coex prepares to host the largest ever number of international events at the centre, including the UFI Congress in the fall. The centre will also see a redevelopment of its shopping mall this year.
