AFRICA - US organiser PennWell Corporation will co-locate the electricity transmission and distribution shows DistribuTECH Africa and POWER-GEN Africa in South Africa next year.
The combined event will take place on 17-19 March, 2014 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
“The decision to co-locate these events was arrived at after consultation with and feedback from the market,” said POWER-GEN Africa’s event director Nigel Blackaby.
“It’s clear that given Africa’s unique challenges and that so many of its utilities are integrated end-to-end energy providers, its stakeholders would be better served by a single event that addresses the entire power generation and delivery chain.”
According to PennWell, the joint event will draw together leading global and local experts to discuss, debate and explore solutions to Africa’s energy generation, distribution and delivery environment.
The organiser claims more than 2,100 visitors from 63 countries attended the inaugural POWER-GEN Africa 2012, and expects the 2014 event to attract larger numbers.
Last year, DistribuTECH Brasil was launched alongside HydroVision Brasil at the Riocentro Exhibition and Convention Center.
