Conventa dates confirmed for 2014

EUROPE - The organiser of the South East European (SEE) meetings and incentives tradeshow Conventa, the Slovenian Convention Bureau, has confirmed dates for its 2014 show.

The sixth edition of the show, based at the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre in Slovenia, will be held from 22 to 23 January 2014.

This year the meetings tradeshow attracted 230 Hosted Buyers from 26 European countries, 138 exhibitors from 10 SEE countries and a first-time exhibitor from Turkey.

“After the first five years of continued growth and strengthening its position, Conventa enters its sixth year with satisfaction knowing it is on the rightpath to gradually raise awareness of South East Europe and present it as a region with great potential and diversity for meetings and events,” said a spokesperson for the convention bureau.

“For most meeting planners the destination of South East Europe remains blurry on theEuropean map. This part of Europe is still relatively undiscovered, despite the fact it consists of 10 rapidly developing countries and lies in the very heart of the continent.”

Hosted buyers’ overall satisfaction with the 2013 show reached an average of 4.6 on the scale where five represents ‘Excellent’ and one ‘Very poor’.

Conventa accommodated less than half of meeting planners who applied for hosted buyer status in 2013. The selection criteria is based on purchasing authority, potential for future business, work references and other factors.

Last year Conventa partnered with Baltic meetings show Convene, which was held for the first time this year.
