International offshore show comes to Aberdeen

EUROPE - Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) will host the Deep Offshore Technology (DOT) event in October 2014.

The DOT show, which has an international conference and accompanying exhibition, features technologies in the deep water oil and gas industry and provides a forum to discuss the specific challenges associated with hostile and ultra deep water environments. Around 50 exhibitors are expected from 14 to 16 October, with 1,000 international delegates expected to attend.

This year’s event takes place in Houston, Texas.

“We look forward to holding DOT 2014 in Aberdeen,” said DOT’s marketing manager AnNicole Faeth. “As an oil and gas hotspot with a strong industry ties, Aberdeen is a natural fit for this event.”

AECC’s managing director Brian Horsburgh was pleased with the event win. “We are delighted with this prestigious conference win for Aberdeen. With great relevance to the area’s energy industry, we are sure it will prove a successful location, bringing in many international visitors in addition to the local industry figures living and working in Aberdeen,” he said.
