Bloom appointed new EMEA COO at GES

WORLD - Global Experience Specialists (GES) has appointed Ted Bloom to a new role of chief commercial officer (CCO) with responsibility for sales and commercial development for exhibitions and events within the EMEA region.

Bloom takes up the new position having previously served as group commercial officer at Melville GES in the UK. He joined the company in 1998.

Bloom will work closely with GES’ show organiser clients throughout the EMEA region, and with the GES North American sales teams, to develop integrated approaches to show organisers’ growing international requirements.

“With many of our clients taking a global approach to show ownership, it is important that we are able to offer them a global service,” said GES executive vice president of international Jason Popp.

“Ted has an in-depth knowledge of our customers throughout the UK, Europe and Middle East, and understands how we can best deliver supporting services to them. His innovative approach is a huge asset to both our organisation and our clients.“

Bloom has already driven the development of Melville GES’ exhibitor offering, new data and registration product, and been instrumental in the recent extension of Melville GES' UBM account in the UK and Europe.

“I'm looking forward to the new challenge of this role with GES and to extending our commercial proposition,” said Bloom. “With our growing geographic reach we can support organiser clients with a consistent service, wherever they may choose to extend their shows.”

Melville GES has recently been awarded an extensive portfolio of work by global B2B events organiser UBM Live.
