Informa adds conference to Dubai energy expo

MIDDLE EAST - Informa Exhibitions, in partnership with the Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of a conference outlining new building regulations to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency across the region.

Taking place on Monday 18 February, Green Energy Middle East Conference will run alongside Middle East Electricity and Solar Middle East, which both run from 17 to 19 February at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In 2012, the show had 1,043 exhibitors and a total attendance of 45,831 people.

Saeed Alabbar, vice chairman of the Emirates Green Building Council will chair the conference. It will end with a panel discussion about key factors for successful Public Private Partnership (PPP) frameworks in energy projects explaining how the public and private sectors can work together to achieve the new energy targets.

"Our partnership with Dubai Municipality reflects our commitment towards a greener economy and the Green Energy Middle East Conference will help support efforts across Dubai to protect its environment by reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency,” said Informa Energy Group director Anita Mathews.

“The conference will be busy with senior government officials who will address delegates about latest developments in industry requirements and examine new projects, while regional experts will deliver business knowledge through a series of practical case studies highlighting clean energy technologies."

Now in its 38th edition, Middle East Electricity attracts around 15,000 visitors from 120 countries every year.

The 2013 edition of the three-day event will host more than 1,100 exhibitors from 58 countries, out to showcase their latest products and solutions in the power, nuclear, lighting, and renewable sectors.
