Montgomery launches Electra Mining West Africa

AFRICA - Montgomery West Africa has announced the launch of Electra Mining West Africa, to be held 10-13 March 2014 at Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana.

Montgomery is the organiser of international and pan-African exhibition Electra Mining. With this launch the group is looking to capitalise on the South African show via its new local subsidiary Montgomery West Africa, headed up by managing director Tori Abiola.

The move comes in response to recent developments in the West African region, with many global mining players keen to have a professionally organised local show.

“With interest and demand from our visitors and exhibitors from Electra Mining Africa, West Africa and Ghana present keen unexplored opportunities with huge mining potential,” said Abiola.

“West Africa is predicted to be a big mining hub for the future – especially in gold and iron ore. Countries such as Sierra Leone, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana are some of the leading players with the largest potential.”

The event will include specialist workshops, conference, exhibitor and site visits and will run at Accra International Conference Centre with a launch planned for March 2013. A mining awards ceremony will also be launched.

Montgomery last month launched Hostex East Africa, a new trade exhibition for the hospitality and food service sectors, and the first joint venture between Montgomery and the Kenya-based company Event and Conference Organisers (ECO).
