41% visitor increase at IFSEC & OSH Arabia second edition, says UBM

MIDDLE EAST - IFSEC and OSH Arabia returned to Saudi Arabia for its second installment in December 2012, with organiser UBM claiming a 41 per cent increase in attendees.
 
The protection, fire and occupational health and safety event is held alongside and in partnership with the 15th International Conference and Exhibition for Industrial Security, organised by Saudi Arabia’s Higher Commission for Industrial Security.
 
The 15th Industrial Conference for Industrial Security drew 560 delegates on 10-11 December.

More than 100 exhibiting companies attended the event from 20 countries, including 40 organisations from the UK, double that of the 2011 edition.
 
Companies represented at
IFSEC and OSH Arabia include Saudi Aramco, Sabic, Ma’aden, Technology Control Company (TCC), Axis Communications, Milestone Systems, Sony, General Dynamics, Future Fibre Technologies, Security Control Company, and Saudi Chemical Company.
 
IFSEC & OSH Arabia project director, Patrick Latchem, said: “Our partnership with the High Commission for Industrial Security really made a difference and combined with our major A-list sponsors, has firmly cemented the show as the industry’s annual gathering, in the biggest single security, safety and fire market in the Middle East.”
 
According to UBM, the commercial and industrial security, fire, and safety markets for the region are currently worth £685m, and there are plans to spend US$400bn on security over the next five years. Saudi Arabia is one of the top 10 fastest growing countries in the world and the largest and most influential economy in the Middle East.
