Plastics, printing and packaging show planned for Ghana

AFRICA - German trade show specialist Fairtrade is launching a tradeshow on plastics, printing and packaging in Ghana.

Plastprinpack West Africa 2013, an international trade show on plastics, composites, chemistry and printing and packaging solutions and material, takes place on 3-5 December 2013 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana.

“Africa, especially west Africa, during the past few years has become a focal point of interest as a market of the future, with high potential. West Africa, in 2012, reached a GDP growth of five per cent. Ghana’s growth, however, continuously exceeds seven per cent,” said Fairtrade MD Martin März.

Friedbert Klefenz, the president of Bosch Packaging Technology and chairman of the board of the packaging machinery sector within German engineering association VDMA, said the benefit of launching an event in Ghana will be made more obvious a decade from now, likening the continent’s future industrial development to that ongoing in Asia.

“I am convinced that in 10 years from now we will witness the great Africa boom,” he said. “By then, for us working in the field of packaging technology, business-wise the continent will play a similarly important role as Asia does today.”

Manch Communications is launching the third edition of its International conference on the exhibition industry in Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 13-14 February.
